Pamela Casper was born and raised in New York City.

Her art training began at the LaGuardia High School for Music and Art. She attended Swarthmore College, where she majored in psychology and studied painting with Harriet Shorr. After graduation Ms. Casper moved to Paris for two years where she painted independently and traveled throughout North Africa and Europe. In 1979 she exhibited at the Francoise Carel Gallery in Paris.

In 1980 Pamela Casper returned to New York City and moved to Tribeca. During the next five years she turned her attention to the lower Manhattan skyline, which she rendered in oil. From 1985 to 1987 she took up pastel and continued with the cityscapes while developing a new series of “Break Dancer” drawings. These drawings were exhibited in a one-person show in Geneva, Switzerland in 1987. Ms Casper exhibited at the Pastel Society in New York City in 1989 where she received an award.

During the summer of 1991 while visiting Vermont, Ms. Casper began to focus on “Plein air” painting and still life. She worked with watercolor in addition to oil as a means to achieve greater spontaneity. These subjects continue to be a passion for her today. Pamela Casper’s landscapes have been shown through out New England. Her still life work has been exhibited at the American Watercolor Society in New York City and at the Arts Forum gallery on 57th Street, NYC. In addition, the editors of Gourmet Magazine and Fine Cooking Magazine have published her watercolors. Her textile designs have appeared on the ties and scarves of the fashion designer, Nicole Miller.

Since the birth of her twins in 2002 Pamela Casper has been exploring the dynamic relationship between nature and man in water colors combining her observational skills and her imagination. Pamela Casper maintains a studio in Tribeca and she and her husband Markus Schulte, live and raise their six year old twins in Tribeca, New York City.
